Hello everyone!

We’ve got a fresh update for Total Network Inventory. New version is mostly a “polish and stability” release, but it includes a bigger addition you’ve been asking for – LDAPS support for AD sync – plus a nice round of improvements around Data transfers and macOS Tahoe compatibility.

Secure AD synchronization with LDAPS

If your environment requires encrypted directory access, this one’s for you: AD synchronization can now use LDAPS.

You’ll see a new Secure connection checkbox in the AD sync settings. When enabled, the program connects via LDAPS (LDAP over TLS), which encrypts traffic between …

We’re excited to share that Softinventive Lab now has an official presence on Reddit.

We decided to start by creating our first subreddit dedicated to our most popular product, Total Network Inventory. You can find us at r/NetworkInventory, where we will be posting updates, answering questions, gathering feedback, and discussing everything related to TNI, IT asset management, and system auditing.

Our goal is to create a space where system administrators, IT professionals, and anyone interested in our products can talk directly with our team. Your insights and suggestions help us improve Total Network Inventory, and Reddit is …

Hello everyone!

This update is a smaller one in terms of features, but it brings a nice round of polish to Total Network Inventory, especially to the Scheduler interface.

Get a clear picture of task behavior

The Scheduler now does a better job of telling you what’s going on without making you dig into each task.

The “Last run” column will now show the latest result for every task, so you can quickly scan the list and see what went fine, what failed, and what needs your attention. It’s much easier to assess the overall picture at …

Hey there, we’ve got something interesting to share.

Today we’re rolling out a long-awaited addition to Total Network Inventory: resident agent modes for macOS, Linux and FreeBSD. Until now, the resident agent approach was available primarily for Windows fleets, but starting with this release, you can bring the same “install once, scan on schedule” workflow to your Unix estate as well.

  • Big featureUnix resident agents

Why resident mode on Unix matters?

Resident agents perform scans locally on each node according to the set schedule. That brings a few practical wins:

  • Less traffic, less waiting. The only

Hi everyone!

Today we’re rolling out another most requested feature to Total Network Inventory’s Network diagram mode. Version 6.5 introduces a new scalable map viewing mode and true multi-user editing and collaboration – and we didn’t stop there. Let’s take a closer look.

Scalable network diagram view

Finally, you can step back and see your entire network at a glance – no matter how sprawling it gets.

  • Four dynamic zoom stages: scale the canvas to fit any map – small or sprawling.
  • One-click navigation: click anywhere in the overview mode or drop a device node and TNI returns

Greetings!

We’ve just rolled out a major internal upgrade for scanning Linux, FreeBSD, and ESXi systems via SSH. While SSH-based scanning has been part of Total Network Inventory for a long time, the old agent was showing its age – becoming less reliable and harder to maintain as new Unix distributions kept emerging.

With this update, we’re introducing a completely rewritten SSH scanning agent. The new version is designed to be more stable, predictable, and much easier to extend. That means better support right now – and quicker support for more Unix-like systems in the future.

If you’re …
