TNI 6.6.5: Scheduler at a glance

Hello everyone!

This update is a smaller one in terms of features, but it brings a nice round of polish to Total Network Inventory, especially to the Scheduler interface.

Get a clear picture of task behavior

The Scheduler now does a better job of telling you what’s going on without making you dig into each task.

The “Last run” column will now show the latest result for every task, so you can quickly scan the list and see what went fine, what failed, and what needs your attention. It’s much easier to assess the overall picture at a glance, especially if you rely on a large set of scheduled jobs.

We’ve also moved the task main options preview into a separate “Details” column. This makes long lists of tasks more readable: names and status in one place, key parameters right next to them.

On top of that, there are several other improvements to the Scheduler that you’ll notice in everyday use: cleaner and more informative validation of required fields, more predictable manual stopping of scheduled tasks, and other quality-of-life improvements.

New handy feature for Network map

Another change that’s been frequently requested by our users has landed in the Network map mode: a new “Lock dragging” checkbox.

When it’s enabled, you can effectively “freeze” parts of the layout of your map – background images and objects won’t budge from accidental mouse movement. This is particularly useful when you’re placing assets on top of a carefully prepared background and don’t want to constantly fix things that were nudged by mistake.

And the rest

Alongside these UI changes, the release includes log rotation for the macOS resident agent mode, smarter handling of SSH agent updates during deployment, and a series of fixes around storage operation and architecture detection on Linux devices.

You’ll find the full changelog with all improvements and fixes at the link.

Update your TNI and stay tuned!
