Hi there,

I have just found your product and it's pretty much exactly what I have been looking for over the years.

I was going to ask if it was possible to request some features like nested group folders and having group folders light up red/black/green dependent on the monitors in them.

However I see on a recent post that you have said that "development of TNM has been suspended".  Could I ask are you looking to incorporate TNM in to another product or will it be possible to get the source code of TNM so we could develop it further inhouse?

Could you elaborate on 'suspended'?

Always the case when I just find the right thing it goes! LOL

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Hope you enjoy this news, because we’ve found time to resume the development of Total Network Monitor.

We are planning to release a new version in a month or two.

By the way, it is possible to create nested groups with Project Editor (Tools - Project Editor) in the current TNM version.

After opening, changing and saving the project file in the Project Editor, reopen it in TNM to see the changes (say No when asked to save the project, otherwise your changes will be overwritten).

Hi,

Work in progress. We are planning to release a version for public beta testing in late June.

Some things that I'd really really love to see...

  • Global actions that will take effect on ALL monitors, but can be overriden if for individual moniors if needed.
  • The ability to drag and drop devices (with their monitors) into other groups instead of having to delete and recreate them.
  • Active Directory monitors such as group membership changes.
  • Exchange monitors such as mailbox store, failover alerts etc.
  • VMWare monitors such as datastore usage, host resource usage etc.
  • A monitor that runs a script and checks the exit code.
  • New device icons for things like SAN storage, firewalls, telephony etc.
  • The option to probe on a custom port or protocol.

I know, I know... That's probably a big ask since that's quite a few different things.

I just really belive that it'll take this from really really good, to absolutly EPIC :)

Will SNMP be included in this release?

Oh yes, I forgot SNMP.

You'd end up being able to get switch port utilisation % amoungst other stuff. That'd be cool.

We've got a few sites that seem to drop pings fairly regulary but its never user effecting and no other services drop.

The thing that I've noticed is that if there is one ping drop on a monitor, it'll trigger a RED action.

I was wondering if there was a way set a threshold value where you can set how many concecutive failures have to occour before a RED alert and its actions are triggered.

Unfortunately, SNMP will not be included in this release.

As for the monitor, you can set the action property "N times in a row" for example to 3.

This way it will alert only after 3 consecutive ping fails.
