ANOTHER Email Setup FAIL

Why is it so difficult to get working???

I've read all the email setup problem forum topics here.

I've read the instructions/help files.

I've tried using my comcast.net account, no luck.

I've signed up with mail.ru

I've got Outlook Express client sending and receiveing mail.ru verified working on my PC.

 

BUT YOUR SEND NOTIFICATION STILL WON'T WORK

 

Getting "Can not read from socket" Error

 

File > Options > Email >

SMTP Server = smtp.mail.ru (same as Outlook Express that is working)

Port = 465 (same as Outlook Express that is working)

Server requires authorization = yes (same as Outlook Express that is working)

Login = same as Outlook Express that is working

Password = same as Outlook Express that is working

 

Monitor Properties > Action > Send Email >

Sender = myname@mail.ru

Recipient = myname@gmail.com

Subject = Alert

SMTP = Use from Options

TNM does not support encryption (TLS or STARTTLS). Use standard SMTP port 25 instead of 465.

The only way I could get Outlook Express to work was with 465 SSL. Plain 25 won't work. SSL 25 won't work.

 

TNM error when using 25 = "Can not connect to smtp.mail.ru:25. true"
